Cut-out: This woman has a smooth porcelain back with delicate cutouts revealing a hollow torso

Imaginative: The picture of the woman alone is enough to impress but Grassi then places other-wordly designs on their bodies that cannot be recreated in the real world

Vibrant: The subjects of his works, despite their freckles and pores and fly-away hairs, are like no humans ever photographed

Canvas: Grassi uses the human body to act like a shell with a wonderful surface for his artwork upon which complicated designs are drawn
Taking his time: It takes Grassi many weeks to complete each painting and it is painstaking work to get every last detail right

Reach out and touch: From the looks, to the reflection of the light, to their gently tousled hair, no element is overlooked as the paintings take on a humanlike quality

Abstract: The tattoos teeming over their skin are themselves works of art as they gracefully transcend this woman's neck and shoulders

Appeal: Grassi says that he is attracted to the material's consistency and how the light catches and reflects off them like a precious stone, pottery or glass

Closer look: Grassi combines inhuman elements with lifelike human portraits it's hard to tell where realism ends and where fantasy begins

Perfection: His subject's skin has a velvety fuzz and slightly mottled tone; their lips are softly creased

New style: Grassi terms the style of his photoreal paintings 'surreal hyperrealistic' and say that he is inspired by different texture

Devoted: Grassi says he spends two to three months on most of his paintings which take up a huge amount of time

Unique: The designs and techniques are complex, yet the photo-realistic results are lush and detailed

Look away now: The oil paintings juxtapose the familiar warmth and softness of the human body ith colder, harsher materials, creating an eerie atmosphere

Creative: Grassi paints casual colorful interpretations of people - usually woman in sexually enticing poses
